The Liberal Democrats have secured a stunning double victory by winning two by-elections in one night in the East Riding with Group Leader declaring the result shows they are ‘seriously on the up.’

East Riding Liberal Democrat Group Leader Cllr Denis Healy’s comments come after Tony Henderson was elected Beverley in Minster and Woodmanse and Ross Harrison elected in Tranby.

For the first time in 17 years, the East Riding of Yorkshire council has passed a budget, shaped and influenced by the opposition groups, and reflects the new no overall control situation on the council.

After seeing other neighbourhoods have telegraph poles imposed on them without sufficient consultation, Graham convened the councillors around the table with Connexin to ensure the people of Beverley and Molescroft have their voices heard.
