Some good rugby but overall a rather strange game. The outcome was settled in a devastating quarter of an hour spell at the end of the first half during which Beverley RUFC ran in five unanswered tries.
A rousing local derby from which Beverley RUFC somehow emerged with their winning sequence intact. But it was a mighty close run thing. For three-quarters of the match they were completely outplayed.
Seven tries, seven conversions. Beverley RUFC comfortably continued their good run and they now stand fourteen points clear of their nearest rivals at the top of North One East.
Beverley RUFC opened the second half of their league season in fine style. Morpeth for the second time this season were unlucky to come up against them when they were in rampant mood.

Another good day for Beverley RUFC. In their last two matches they have seen off their two closest rivals and scored over 100 points in the process. They now stand nine points clear at the top of North One East
For Beverley they don’t come much better than this. You would have expected this top of the table clash between two sides with only one defeat between them in twenty two games to be a close and tightly fought affair.
Another workmanlike afternoon for Beverley RUFC. Although Keighley started brightly and took an early lead they were eventually put to the sword. Eight tries, mostly in a second half blitz, took Beverley RUFC to within a single point of league leaders Wheatley
Some good tries but on the whole not an afternoon of high entertainment value. The Yorkshire Cup in recent years has lost much of its gravitas and clubs now often use it to give their fringe and young players a run out.
Beverley RUFC have a weekend off from league action on Saturday as they make the short trip to Pocklington for the Yorkshire Cup Preliminary round tie.
The rugby here was not exactly a thing of beauty but it brought Beverley the bonus point win they desperately wanted. There were patches of good play but somehow this game never really got going, probably due in part to some over-enthusiastic refereeing.
Beverley RUFC embark upon the long journey up to Newcastle this weekend to take on Northern RFC in the North 1 (East) league fixture.
Another good day for Beverley RUFC. They needed to record a big win here to boost their points difference and they did it in fine style. Darlington are having an unhappy time since their promotion into North One East
This was a bit more like it. After their disappointing display the previous week Beverley RUFC got themselves together today and ended up with a much needed five point win. It was a hard-fought affair and in truth for half the match things were not that much better than at Morley.
Beverley RUFC will be looking to return to winning ways this weekend when they entertain Cleckheaton at Beaver Park (Kick-off 3.p.m.). If they are to do, so they will need to sort out their worrying preponderance for over elaborating in the backs, in particular.
It was almost bound to happen. In all the years these sides have been playing each other it is hard to remember Beverley RUFC ever visiting Scatcherd Lane without making a pig’s ear of it. Today they did it big time.
This week Beverley RUFC embarks on the second leg of back to back away fixtures. Having returned from Middlesbrough with a win and a try scoring bonus last Saturday, Anthony Posa’s men are again on their travels, to Leeds this time to play fellow ex National League side Morley.
