Beavers Up For The Challenge Says Coach Ahead Morely Match

This week embarks on the second leg of back to back away fixtures. Having returned from Middlesbrough with a win and a try scoring bonus last Saturday, ’s men are again on their travels, to this time to play fellow ex National League side Morley.

Morley are playing at their lowest level in their fine history after back to back relegations and will no doubt be looking for a swift return to their once lofty heights. There is no doubt that Beverley will need to be on top of their game to keep their 100% record alive.

Head Coach Posa commented, ‘At the start of the season I couldn’t help but look at the draw and see these back to back games as a key stage in where we want to be as a squad. To play Middlesbrough and Morley back to back is tough enough, but both away from home as well! It’s a daunting challenge but one I am sure we will be up for!’

Beverley will need full use of their talented squad to achieve this though as injuries continue to hamper them in this physical league. Outstanding winger Lee Birch is the latest casualty, damaging a foot in yet another exciting break last Saturday.

The good news is that it is not as serious as initially feared and whilst he shouldn’t be out for long, he definitely will not be making the trip to Morley. Offsetting that blow somewhat is the expected return of , Phil DuBoulay and Alex Ogilvie.

The following squad has been selected for the trip:-

R.Bussey, T.Tanumi, S.Atiola, J.Tupai(capt) G.Jelencic, L.Atiola, P.Duboulay, A.Nixon, C.Infield, M.Kirkwood, K.Renwick, S.Kerry, M.Hatfield, A.Ogilvie, F.Hopa, C.Hancock, M.Adams, J.Stephenson, D.Worrall, J.Picketts.
