A cracking game between two well-matched sides and a cracking Beverley RUFC performance.
Salem are a different proposition from the team that struggled earlier in the season and the young Beverley side would have expected a tough afternoon here. That they romped home in such fine style owed much to a composed team effort and a fearless attacking game.
This was an all too familiar Beverley afternoon. Bags of endeavour and wholehearted effort and plenty of the play but in the end nothing to show for it.
So in the end it finished all square. Both sides were probably left feeling a sense of frustration, Beverley perhaps the more so because with ten minutes left they led 23-11
At last. A first win for Beverley and a fine one at that with a bonus point to boot. There was little here to suggest that they had gone into this game winless and without a single point
Forget the score. Forget that it was another heavy loss. This was a wholehearted Beverley performance and in the end the margin of defeat was rough justice for a fine effort
Perhaps the least said about this the better. It was Beverley’s last home fixture of what has been a fairly wretched season and it ended in another heavy defeat.
Not a lot here to cheer about. To commemorate the club’s Ladies Day Beverley turned out in pink and unfortunately for most of the time they played accordingly.
A one-sided first half but overall plenty of exciting rugby. On an afternoon of early spring sunshine both sides ran the ball from anywhere and despite the final margin of defeat Beverley RUFC emerged from the game with great credit
Good in parts but overall not a particularly memorable afternoon. After their steadily improving recent performances today was disappointing for Beverley.
