Rampant Beverley Wrap Their Season Up In Style Against Acklam

Beverley rounded off the season in rampant mood as they demolished a very determined Acklam side by 67 points to 10.

From the kick-off Beverley put pressure on the Acklam line but were unable to break through. This was largely due to the number of infringements by the Acklam forwards which resulted in four penalties and a yellow card for them within the first 5 minutes.

Arup To Design And Pre-Construct Yorkshire Harbour And Marina

East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Bridlington Harbour Commissioners have appointed internationally-renowned professional services firm Arup to undertake project design and pre-construction work for the Yorkshire Harbour and Marina Project.

Funded by a £3.5 million Local Growth Fund grant, awarded by the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Enterprise Partnership, Arup will start work in March and will provide a design for the preferred concept, advice on potential funding sources, preparation of papers to support any statutory orders and consents and the development of tender documentation for the project’s construction. This work is anticipated to take until late 2018 to complete.

Enterprising Primary And Secondary Pupils In Entrepreneurial Initiative

Primary and secondary pupils and businesses will be coming together for a celebration event to mark the end of the 14th ‘Make £5 Blossom’ project, whereby children were given a nominal amount of money to develop innovative ideas to make a profit.

Over 300 young people took part in the project, sponsored by the John Cracknell Enterprise Bank. The celebration event is being held at the Guildhall on 26 April, and will see those involved sharing their enterprising journeys.

Friends of the Ferens, on behalf of Ferens Art Gallery, has today launched a crowd funding campaign to raise money to purchase a further piece of artwork from Spencer Tunick’s Sea of Hull installation for the city to keep forever.

Three of the unique Sea of Hull photographs have now joined the gallery’s permanent collection as part of the original commission and the Ferens has been offered the opportunity to add a fourth as a reminder of that unique day in Hull on 9 July 2016 which made worldwide headlines.
