New Health Card Launched To Support Care Leavers
NHS Hull Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) have this month launched a new ‘Handy Health Guide’ to support young people leaving care to know where to access medical treatment and how to look after their mental health and wellbeing.
The card, brainchild of Tom, 22, one of the care leavers actively involved with the Hull City Council Care Leaver team aims to help young people who have spent time in Local Authority Care navigate the often confusing health service.

A travelling exhibition revealing the hidden histories of the Humber Bridge will get underway this week.
The exhibition is part of the Hidden Histories of the Humber Bridge project – an oral history project which aims to capture the stories of people whose lives’ have been shaped by the iconic, Grade One listed structure.
Electors Encouraged To Register For Postal Votes To Beat Potential Bad Weather On Election Day
People wanting to vote in next month’s general election but are concerned about not being able to get to a polling station due to potential bad weather are being urged to register for a postal vote.
The general election will take place on Thursday, 12 December, the first time a general election has been held in December since 1923, and it does mean that on polling day there could be bad weather.

Beverley Guildhall’s winter exhibition this year will be “Looking at Lairgate – Beverley’s Back Street”.
The new exhibition opens on Wednesday, 27 November and runs through to 13 March 2020. Those involved say this type of exhibition is very popular.
Evaluation Report Highlights UK City Of Culture Impact
City and cultural leaders have welcomed the publication of an independent evaluation of Hull’s year in the spotlight as UK City of Culture 2017, which confirms the continuing impact the title has had on the city.
The report, published by the University of Hull, says “the most significant impact of all” was an estimated £676m of new private and public investment that was generated for the city.
ArtWaves Returns To Bridlington For 2020
Bridlington Spa is once again hosting ArtWaves Festival for its sixth consecutive year in May 2020. The popular ArtWaves Fringe will begin on Monday 25 May culminating in a weekend of festival activity on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May.
ArtWaves will showcase a mix of traditional, digital, contemporary and urban art in a programme which has been thoughtfully considered, both for those artists with existing experience and those budding artists wanting to try a new experience.
