Celebrating Fifteen Years of Progress: A Landmark Day for East Riding Community Hospital

Fifteen years ago, on the 20 January a historic agreement unfolded that would shape the landscape of healthcare in Beverley. The deal involved the sale of the land for what would become the cornerstone of health services in the region – Beverley’s new Community Hospital on Swinemoor Lane.

Captured in a photograph from 20 January 2009, Karen Knapton, then Chair of the NHS East Riding of Yorkshire, and Councillor Eric Bielby, Former Chairman of Beverley Consolidated Charity Board of Trustees (now Beverley Housing Charity), stand proudly at the site that would become the much-needed local healthcare facility.

A 26-year-old man has been charged in connection to two incidents that occurred in Beverley on Wednesday 8 September.

The man was charged with arson with intent to endanger life and arson with criminal damage in relation to two fires that destroyed two vehicles on Swinemoor Lane and Grove Hill Road.
