Humberside Police are appealing to the public who may have dash cam footage of an incident to come forward.

Police have issued the appeal in relation to an incident that occurred on Bridge Road last Saturday.

In a statement released a spokesperson for the police said;

“We are appealing for dashcam footage from vehicles that were travelling along Hull Bridge Road at the Beverley side of the Swinemoor Lane roundabout between 7.50pm and 8.10pm on Saturday 16 October, as part of an ongoing investigation.”

“It was reported that a woman was assaulted by a man at approximately 8pm on that evening, suffering injuries that required hospital treatment.”

“It was also reported the man attempted to sexually assault the woman before being disturbed by witnesses. The woman will make a full recovery; however, it was understandably incredibly distressing and she continues to be supported by officers.”

“Officers quickly attended the incident, and subsequently we can now report a 28-year-old man has been charged with committing an offence with the intention of committing a sexual offence. He was remanded into custody to appear in Hull Crown Court on Monday 15 November, following his first court appearance in Hull Magistrates yesterday, Monday 18 October.”

“We would like to thank the witnesses who came to the aid of the woman and who have supported our investigation so far.”

“We understand that hearing of incidents of this nature can be concerning for the public, but both high visibility and plain-clothed officers continue to patrol the area to provide reassurance and challenge any suspicious or unsettling behaviour.”

“If you have any information about this incident that could assist us, please contact 101 quoting log 539 of 16 October.”
