A good natured crowd, a fast game, and a tight finish; this was a good day’s rugby. After three defeats in their last four league outings Beverley badly needed a win here.
Not to get one was a disappointment and they now find themselves languishing in mid-table. It wasn’t for the want of trying and there was plenty of enterprise but in the end they could have no complaint at the final result.
This was a cracking game with bags of thrilling rugby. Both sides played throughout with flair and ambition providing plenty for the spectators to enjoy in the autumn sunshine.
For three-quarters of the game, the advantage swung one way then the other. It was only when Heath went two converted tries ahead with twenty minutes left that either side began to dominate. Despite the loss, this was much more like it from Beverley. After the dire showing of the previous week, they played well here and deserved better than an eighteen point defeat.
Plenty of endeavour and spirit but it all got rather bogged down in the wet and heavy going. Both these high scoring sides are in fine form at the moment and on a dry day this would probably have been a cracker.
A workmanlike display and a good win for Beverley. Apart from a scrappy twenty minute spell in the second half this was an enjoyable but unspectacular game.
Beverley began the second half of their league programme with a comfortable win in damp and murky conditions at Penrith. There were periodic bursts of good rugby but generally this was a pretty low key affair.
A day to forget. Beverley were given a comprehensive going over here by a Billingham side playing with far greater verve and efficiency. It was comfortably Beverley’s poorest display of the season.
This was more like it. After several disappointing performances in which they have not done themselves justice Beverley had a comfortable win here and looked to be back at their best.
You will not see rugby much better than this. Beverley already had the league title wrapped up but Sheffield were still battling for a play-off place. And they set their stall out here to go for it.
Job done. Beverley RUFC needed just two points to be certain of finishing as champions of North One East and they duly got them here. They were far from their best for most of this match but who cares.
A good first half and some excellent defending brought Beverley RUFC what in the end turned out to be a comfortable victory. Both sides were up for this. Morley needed a win to maintain their push for promotion while Beverley RUFC
Beverley RUFC opened the second half of their league season in fine style. Morpeth for the second time this season were unlucky to come up against them when they were in rampant mood.
For Beverley they don’t come much better than this. You would have expected this top of the table clash between two sides with only one defeat between them in twenty two games to be a close and tightly fought affair.
Another good day for Beverley RUFC. They needed to record a big win here to boost their points difference and they did it in fine style. Darlington are having an unhappy time since their promotion into North One East
