Awards that reward the region’s best, brightest, most successful, and innovative tourism businesses will return in 2022 and will continue to be a route to national recognition.
The 2022 Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards, the REYTAs, organised by tourism body Visit Hull and East Yorkshire (VHEY), has been officially relaunched culminating in an awards event in November 2022.
Sunday, 26 June, 2022, will see a major community event at East Riding Leisure Beverley, when many local organisations, sports clubs and local residents will come together for the Beverley What’s On Community Event in memory of Ivan Usher, from 10am to 3pm.
Those attending will have the chance to try out a wide range of activities and sports, support local clubs taking part in football and rugby matches, and find out more about what’s going on in Beverley.

After a successful and extremely popular run in April, ‘Paint the Town Fred’, a new play about Beverley’s best-known artists, Fred and Mary Elwell, will return to the East Riding Theatre (ERT) in Beverley for an extended run in early June.

It is being planned for the council’s local growth team to do two days of activities in the centre of Beverley towards the end of the month.
There will be no pre-registration required for the events, and there will be no charge to attend. Over the course of two days, a variety of family entertainment will be provided by outside vendors as well as council-sponsored teams and community organisations.

The area will host eight giveaway events between Monday 9 May and Saturday 21 May, during which around 5,000 bags of compost will be distributed for free to local residents.
