Beverley celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Festival of Christmas on Sunday with thousands of visitors safely enjoying the festivities.
Each year, on the second Sunday in December, the centre of Beverley is transformed into a magical Christmas shopper’s wonderland, with over 110 stalls brimming with gorgeous Christmas gifts and local treats taking over the historic market town.

Visitors to this year’s festival are encouraged to travel via public transport to get into Beverley. Visitors can also make use of the Park and Ride facility set up at Beverley Racecourse (postcode: HU17 8QZ) – which for this year will be FREE of charge.
Over 20 carol singers collected an amazing £694.00 in Beverley on Sunday 5 December for Hull Samaritans. The carol singers sang a variety of carols and Christmas songs on Beverley Toll Gavel for over 3 hours.
“The response was amazing,” said Samaritans Director Rob Carlisle, “We can’t believe the generosity of people donating so much money.”

Beverley’s Winter music festival, Stage4Beverley, is back again next February ( 13th – 20th ) after a year’s break due to COVID. Chris Wade, the programmer for the festival said “ the festival has felt so long in coming that we all now feel the need to get out and hear live music and entertainment. S4B is the perfect answer.”

Entrepreneurs and small businesses in The East Riding of Yorkshire celebrated the launch of their new Business & IP Centres opening in Beverley Library, Bridlington Central Library and Goole Library.

East Riding College has announced that their Principal Mike Welsh will retire in Spring 2022. During his 4 and-a-half years in the post, Mike led the College through a very successful merger with TEC Partnership and raised quality and standards, achieving a Good OfSTED rating.
A further 16 people have been convicted of littering offences committed in Hull, with fines and costs amounting to £6,210.
The convictions come after individuals failed to pay fixed penalty notices, issued in June of this year and obtained in November.
Bus company East Yorkshire have announced their Christmas bus schedules, including special Boxing Day services across the region.
East Yorkshire’s buses will be running to different timetables between Christmas Eve and 3 January 2022.
