Gloria Hunniford OBE Confirmed As Guest Speaker At Women Of Achievement Awards

National treasure Gloria Hunniford OBE has been announced as the guest speaker at the launch of this year’s Women of Achievement Awards.

The launch, which took place on Thursday 7 April, also marked the opening of entries for the awards, giving people the chance to nominate themselves or others for one of nine award categories.

Beavers Conclude Home Fixtures With Victory Over Roundhegians

The last home game of the 21/22 season at Beaver Park was against Roundhegians RUFC, both teams equal on points in Yorkshire Division One, and the conditions were good, so there was a promise of an entertaining game of rugby, which the supporters were treated too.

An entertaining game of end-to-end rugby which saw Beverley finish victorious 31 – 21. Matchday sponsors Darren Hart from Groundtech and Iain Gillard from Big Box Group brought a good number of guests to the already excited ‘last match at home’ vibe, rounded off with a positive result meant the atmosphere at Beaver Park was buzzing.

Hull and East Riding residents are encouraged to ensure they are prepared for the upcoming Easter bank holidays and reminded which NHS services will be available.

Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC) and out of hours GP services across Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire will remain open. However, GP practices and most pharmacies will be closed on Good Friday (15 April) and Easter Monday (18 April).

Work has begun at three East Riding of Yorkshire Council sites to decarbonise the buildings following the award of Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) funding. 

Phase 1 of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) provided £1 billion in grants, reflecting the public sector’s role in meeting the Government’s net-zero commitment by 2050. The Council was successful in receiving £1.9 million of funding from this scheme.

Bridlington Park And Ride And Land Trains Resume On Saturday

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has announced that the popular Bridlington Park and Ride bus service will start on Saturday, 9 April and will run until 30 October, seven days a week.

The Park and Ride site near South Cliff Holiday Park will be open from 7am – 8pm, and charges will apply between those times. Transport links into town will start at 9.30am; times of the last bus back to the site will vary throughout the season.
