Hull City Council Appoints Carbon Trust To Support City’s 2030 Carbon Neutral Strategy

Hull City Council is linking up with a major global organisation to help realise ambitious plans for a carbon-neutral future in the city. 

The council, along with neighbouring East Riding of Yorkshire Council, has appointed the Carbon Trust to undertake an assessment of how it can become carbon-neutral.

The installations, from internationally-renowned and award-winning artists Katayoun Dowlatshahi and Heinrich & Palmer, will include a new seating area in the Peace Garden, integrated artworks on new amphitheatre-style seating, as well as maritime-inspired installations and lighting along the boundary of the gardens.

Beverley to York Rail Link Proposal Turned Down By Government

Proposals to restore the Beverley to York rail link have been turned down by the Government.  MP Graham Stuart says he disappointed with the decision while adding he remains optimistic that the project has a future.

Back in June, the MP submitted a bid to restore the 32-mile length of track from Beverley to York to the Department for Transport’s Restoring Your Railway Fund.
