Humberside Police Gets Whopping 127 Extra Police Officers

New figures released last week show that more than 6,620 police officers have been recruited through a national recruitment drive, backed by £400 million of Government funding.

The announcement means that the Government is ahead of its target to have recruited 6,000 extra officers by next month and 20,000 extra by 2023.

Spot Checks On Supermarket Covid Safety

A new drive to keep customers and employees safe in Hull’s supermarkets will see Coronavirus safety checks carried out by the council’s Public Protection Team and Covid Marshals.

Officers will visit supermarkets and similar shops, and assess whether measures in place are adequate. Those who fail to meet the necessary safety standards will be told they must improve, and advice will be given.
