For Beverley they don’t come much better than this. You would have expected this top of the table clash between two sides with only one defeat between them in twenty two games to be a close and tightly fought affair.
Following their emphatic win at former league leaders Wheatley Hills last Saturday, Beverley return to Yorkshire Cup action this weekend against the same opponents but this time at Beaver Park.

The rugby here was not exactly a thing of beauty but it brought Beverley the bonus point win they desperately wanted. There were patches of good play but somehow this game never really got going, probably due in part to some over-enthusiastic refereeing.

This was a bit more like it. After their disappointing display the previous week Beverley RUFC got themselves together today and ended up with a much needed five point win. It was a hard-fought affair and in truth for half the match things were not that much better than at Morley.
Beverley RUFC will be looking to return to winning ways this weekend when they entertain Cleckheaton at Beaver Park (Kick-off 3.p.m.). If they are to do, so they will need to sort out their worrying preponderance for over elaborating in the backs, in particular.
