The Beverley Lions are once again holding their annual Run For Fun on New Years Day to help banish those Christmas indulgencies and this will be the 20th time they have staged this event. As usual the run has three different distances, 3Km mainly for young children, families and even walkers etc, the 6Km mainly for those wanting a pleasant jog and the 10Km for the more serious runners etc….
Sequence dancing is a weekly fixture at the Armstrong Social Club in Beverley, the tea dances are attended by between 30 to 50 people and some travel from places like Filey and Scarborough coming all the way to Beverley for an afternoons dancing. Shoppers in Beverley on Saturday were entertained by the Beverley Brass Band who were performing a selective of festive tunes outside The Angel Pub in Beverley. The Beverley Lions held their annual Christmas concert at the Beverley Memorial. Over 200 people were in the hall to enjoy music and a light hearted comedy sketch. The stars of the show were Westfield Junior Choir, the youngsters were accompanied by Mrs Redhead on the piano.
