Stew Scott: ‘Colts Are Bad Losers’

Stew Scott has broken his silence after Sunday’s derby between the Humber Colts and the Inter Beaver ended in scuffle between players.

Speaking with HU17.net Scott, who himself received a yellow card, said;

“Look, not one of the Humber Colts’ players has admitted that we were the better team and deserved to win.”

“They are on about appealing against the red card given to Tom Moore. They are making a mountain out of a mole hill because they are, in my opinion, sore losers.”

“Yes Adam Pardoe deserved to get sent off and so did Tom Moore for raising his hands, even if it was just a slap. You just cannot do that, it sends out the wrong messages to youngsters watching, that it is OK to react like a thug on the football pitch.”

“Scott-Jon Tyler didn’t deserve a red card! He did not react to being slapped instead he just walked away from all the trouble. I do not think the Colts realise that if they appeal against their red card then it will just get extended as there is a picture of Tom kicking off.”

“Other than that it was a good game and the three points made it better, though more importantly we beat the Colts in their own back yard, something not many sides have achieved.”

Scott is confident that the team are all together going into this week’s game. Scott was keen to point out the new signings saying they add that extra ‘quality’ needed and is convinced Sunday football is now a squad game.

Scott said;

“Show me a Sunday team in Beverley who would not want Adam Foster playing up top for them. His acquisition is by far the best bit of business in the January transfer window. Garry Collins is a great signing too, he showed such maturity in how he handled the jeers on Sunday.”

“The Colts have a good squad too, just look at their self-styled water boy Ricky Lee who is clearly a key member to their backroom staff. He is very good at his job in keeping the Colts hydrated, you never see them with cramp and his ability to listen while he continually talks is an amazing skill.”

Inter are likely to be unchanged for Sundays game against Northern Wanderers in the bottom of the table six pointer. Scott who is still recovering from a thigh strain dismissed rumours he would be rested on Sunday.

Paul Wilson, the right footed play maker was instrumental in Inter’s victory and will certainly be the first name on the managers team sheet. A ‘Box to Box’ player Wilson showed true class picking out the decisive runs Adam Foster and Gary Marshall. Wilson not known for his scoring ability came up with the goods this week scoring the opener in Sundays win.
