Longcroft School says that students from the school who took part in the Festival of Words was a positive one.
In all eight of their students contributed to the event that celebrates literature. They took part in an event held at the Treasure House in Beverley.
A new exhibition portraying the skills and satisfaction of manual occupations is coming to The Treasure House, Beverley, on 10 November.
The creation of photographer Peter Barker, ‘Working Hands’ is a series of photographs which show how hand and mind are linked in skilled work, from bookbinding to sheepshearing, from hat making to dog grooming. The photographs suggest a connection between inner and outer worlds, between body and mind, and between thinking and doing.
The Big Draw is coming to Beverley this Saturday (20 October), with a special free event for all ages upstairs in the Treasure House and Art Gallery, from 10 am to 3 pm.
Part of the Big Draw national festival, the Beverley event will feature creative activities on the theme of shipbuilding and the sea.

The festival will be officially launched by Val Wood at Beverley Art Gallery on Thursday, 18 October, at 7.30pm. Val will be giving an exclusive reading of her latest novel, ‘A Place to Call Home’, which will be published in November.
Beverley Theatre Company (BTC) are pleased to announce that Captain Edmund Blackadder, Private Baldrick, Lieutenant George and, yes, even Squadron Commander the Lord Flashheart, will be on parade at the Beverley Memorial Hall this November to help commemorate the centenary of the end of World War One.

A new mini display on an intriguing East Riding figure has opened at the Treasure House in Beverley.
Albert Neville Medforth (1924-2007) was the Director of the East Yorkshire Aero Company in the 1950s & 1960s, and his primary goal in life was to restart flying from the former Hedon Aerodrome, an airfield which had been in use for ten years prior to World War Two. Although ultimately unsuccessful in this venture, he did eventually found an airfield in Paull, which was open until the early-1980s.

Beverley Male Voice Choir are hosting a joint concert with Riverside Brass, an ensemble of former professional musicians.
Taking place at Toll Gavel Church on 30 June, the concert will be used to raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance service.
The Treasure House in Beverley will be hosting The Big Treasure Toddle on Thursday, 28 June, from 1pm to 2.30pm.
The event – a little sponsored walk for little people – is to raise money for children’s charity Barnardo’s , and links to their national Big Toddle campaign.
