Beavers Secure Victory In Huddersfield With Last Kick Of The Game
January 10, 2023

Back in October when Beverley’s opposition visited Beaver Park it was a tense affair and a high-scoring game led to the away team Huddersfield Laund Hill just securing the win in the dying seconds of the game, 36-38, in this return match on a wet dark afternoon in Huddersfield, the Beavers were able to return the favour, literally winning the game with the last kick of the match to win 25-27 in what proved to be a thrilling start to the 2023 campaign for both teams.

November 28, 2022

Beverley RUFC managed to lift themselves up to 5th in the Yorkshire County League One after an entertaining match at Beaver Park against West Leeds.

Both teams played inconsistently throughout the 80 minutes, but the neutrals will have found this an entertaining try-fest. Lack of structure and plenty of mistakes will have left both coaching teams frustrated, final score 42 – 29.

Beverley Pay The Price As They Are Beaten By Rishworthians

Beverley Pay The Price As They Are Beaten By Rishworthians
November 6, 2022

After a fine performance the previous week Beverley lapsed back into their bad habits of earlier in the season and deservedly paid the price.

Basic errors and ill-discipline abounded throughout.  Twelve penalties conceded in the first half alone says it all.  Rishworthians not so much achieved the victory as had it handed to them on a plate.

Beverley Get Back To Winning Ways On The Road At Huddersfield

Hullensians Hit Back In Final Minutes To Beat Beverley Seconds
April 3, 2022

Happily, for both these sides, there is no relegation from Yorkshire One this season; otherwise, this might have been a tense relegation dogfight.

In the event it was an enjoyable and entertaining game with plenty of running rugby; carefree, almost, with nothing much at stake.  Huddersfield YMCA must have one of the most pleasant playing grounds in the league and with ideal conditions and a fine sunny afternoon, there was every reason to hope for a good game.

Depleted Beavers Unable To Cause Upset In Local Derby With Bridlington

Hullensians Hit Back In Final Minutes To Beat Beverley Seconds
March 14, 2022

The local derby trip to Bridlington for the Beavers was always going to be a tough challenge. The previous week Brid came away with an away win at top of the table Old Crossleyans and look to have secured the fourth spot in the league, which is the last promotion spot.

The weather was good for an open game of rugby, and in patches, Beverley’s backs looked impressive, unfortunately, the power of the imported front row and backline of the forward pack was too much, and Bridlington was deserved winners by the end of the afternoon scoring 46 points to Beverley’s 15.

March 7, 2022

Frequent spells of swirling rain and a fierce wind blowing diagonally from corner to corner; it might have been expected that this would be an afternoon of uninspiring rugby for supporters and those attending the ex-players reunion.

But surprisingly both sides made light of the conditions and produced an enthralling game with plenty of running rugby and end to end action.

Goole Beat Beavers As Weather Hampers Quality On The Field

Hullensians Hit Back In Final Minutes To Beat Beverley Seconds
February 14, 2022

Not a day to remember.  Or at any rate not for the rugby.  Persistent heavy rain and a fierce downfield wind meant that from start to finish this game never developed into anything much more than a relentless forward slog.  Expansive running rugby was out of the question.

On a dry day, this might have been an enthralling encounter between these old rivals.  Goole arrived on the back of an upturn in form and an impressive victory the previous week against the league leaders.

Beavers Can Take Some Confidence From West Leeds Defeat

Hullensians Hit Back In Final Minutes To Beat Beverley Seconds
January 23, 2022

A highly entertaining afternoon at Beaver park with ten tries, 5 yellow cards plenty of flowing rugby but Beverley ended up on the wrong end of a 24 -34 scoreline.

It was clear from the off that both teams’ intent and ability to attack was greater than the organisation of their defences. Within two minutes a sweeping move to the left with slick handling by Rob Smith and Dan Lee allowed Luke Hazell the luxury of time to slip recover and run over from 30 metres out. 5-0 Beverley.

Beverley Beat Bradford Salem In Bruising Encounter

Beverley Beaten In Bruising Encounter With Bradford Salem
January 16, 2022

After a bruising encounter last week at top of the table Middlesbrough, where Beverley represented themselves well but didn’t bring back any points, an away trip to the bottom of the table Bradford Salem looked an easier fixture, but there are no easy fixtures in Yorkshire one when you’re going through a transitional phase with the team and under a new head coach.

That head coach, Craig Hancock, was very pleased by the end of the afternoon having had a hard-fought battle with the home team who were looking for their third consecutive victory at home.
