Successful Fund-Raising for the FERYO

The Friends of East Riding Youth Orchestras held two very successful fund-raising events in Beverley just before Christmas.  A total of £328 was collected during two hours of busking at the Tesco store on Saturday 18th December, and on Wednesday 22nd December a magnificent total of £1,594 was raised during an all day playing and bag-packing session at Morrisons. Cardboard Collection Services @ Tesco

Holderness Hunt Supporters Club held their annual hunt meeting at the Beverley Westwood. The event was switched to Monday as this year Boxing Day fell on a Sunday, but hundreds still turned out to see the horses and hounds, including Cllr David Elvidge and the local MP Graham Stuart. Appeal For Witnesses – Incident on the A1174

At 2111hrs on Thursday 16 December 2010 a man was seen driving a silver coloured Volkswagen Golf car along A1174 towards Beverley. Upon seeing police officers in a marked patrol car, the driver of the Golf made off at speed along the A1174 towards Beverley, overtaking numerous vehicles in the process. Trinity House Old Boys’ Dinner @ The Lairgate Hotel

Hull Trinity House Old Boys’ Association, reformed in 1982. Holding their 28th  Annual Dinner Dance at the Lairgate Hotel, Beverley around 60 people were there to enjoy the night. The school was founded in 1787 and was the oldest Navigation School in the world and prepared pupils for a life at sea, many of whom became Masters of ships of various sizes and plied their trade all over the world….

Alberto Raises Over £3000 by Completing the New York Marathon

Beverley resident and Humber Pilot Alberto Girolami completed  his first ING New York Marathon in November in 3 hours 50 minutes and 43 seconds, finishing 10846th out of 44829 runners who completed the course.  He has raised well over three thousand pounds so far in support of Children with Leukaemia.
