New warning signs are to be placed at litter hotspots across the East Riding as part of a campaign to combat the growing problem of roadside rubbish.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council will be placing yellow signs on the verges of main roads with a clear message to drivers to ‘Take Your Litter Home’.

The famous chalk tower at Flamborough Head now boasts a new interpretation board, funded by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, in association with the Friends of the Chalk Tower.
The new board tells the story of the history of the tower, which was built in 1674 as a lighthouse by Sir John Clayton and George Blake. The tower contains 98 steps to the top.
Drivers are to be asked for their help with a series of roadside surveys taking place in Beverley this month on behalf of East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
The surveys are being held to collect information on the journeys people make on the roads around Beverley and will take place between Tuesday 13 and Thursday 22 June.

Public Health England’s Be Clear on Cancer campaign returns to Yorkshire and the Humber to raise awareness of the symptoms of lung cancer, lung disease and heart disease – all leading causes of death.
