Improvement Scheme At Grovehill Road In Beverley Starts This Month

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has announced that a highway improvement scheme is planned to start on Grovehill Road, Beverley, on Monday, 22 October, and is expected to take six weeks to complete.

The scheme extends from Grovehill Junction eastwards to Zarya Court and involves carriageway widening on the south side, along with the provision of a shared footway/cycleway.

An LGBTQ anti-hate crime project which has involved schools and communities across the East Riding was celebrated at an event in Beverley attended by a Home Office minister.

The Right to Be project is an initiative led by children’s charity Barnardo’s in partnership with East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s youth and family support service, following a £48,000 award of funding from the Home Office Hate Crime Community Projects fund.

Free flu jabs are available for people aged 65 and over, people aged from six months to less than 65 years of age with a long-term health condition, pregnant women, children aged from two to four years, people in long-stay residential care homes, and carers.

A charity golf day first launched in 2000 was only intended to be a one-off fund raiser for Cancer Research UK.

The event, organised by Steve Fulstow, a senior accountant with East Riding of Yorkshire Council, became an annual fixture in the local calendar and this year marked the 19th golf day. It took the amount that the event has raised over the years for the cancer charity to an amazing £51,711.
