Junction Near Beverley Set To Be Made Safer For Motorists

Work will begin next week on a £150,000 scheme to improve the road safety of a busy junction at Routh, near Beverley.

Meaux Lane junction on the A1035 between Leven and Beverley has been the location of a number of road accidents, including four collisions in the past three years in which people have suffered injuries.

First Aid Instructor Aims To Help The People Of Soweto

A first aid instructor at East Riding of Yorkshire Council is asking for help to raise money in order to buy medical kits so he can teach the people of Soweto basic first aid skills.

Rocky Clark, who is one of the instructors based at East Riding Leisure Haltemprice, has set up the charity Helping Them to Help Themselves – Friends of Soweto, following a visit to the South African township earlier this year.

Acklams Coaches , which is a local family run business will take on the 504 service, which carries passengers between Bempton, Buckton and Bridlington, will be run by Acklams Coaches from Monday 3 September.
