Beverley Town Tennis Club has been awarded £21,000 funding from East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
The funding is part of Commuted Sums, collected from nearby housing developers. Funding has been awarded to resurface two existing Macadam Tennis Courts at the club, which is based on Norwood.
Beverley Town Tennis Club marked their 100th Anniversary with a special event at their clubhouse.
Founded in 1919 the club captain says they are still going strong while he also adds the club are due to make improvements.
Deputy leader of the Liberal Democrats Denis Healy says the political landscape is changing.

The 2019 Bridlington Seafood Festival will once again set taste buds tingling when it returns to the town on The Spa Promenade on the weekend of 15-16 June.

A man from Hull who advertised a waste removal service on Facebook has been ordered to pay £1,815 after dumping a resident’s rubbish in a layby near Howden.
Audrius Zigmantas, of Doncaster Street, Hull, admitted he and a friend collected the waste from a resident in Cottingham, using his van, but he claimed it was his friend who disposed of the items.
