Members of two local cricket teams are holding a fund raising dinner for The Godber Foundation, a charity they recently formed in honour of Ashley Godber.
Mr. Godber, a former chairman of Cherry Burton Cricket Club sadly died in a road accident en route to play for his beloved club Cherry Burton in May 2017.
Members of local clubs, Beverley Town Football Club, Hodgsons FC and Molescroft Rangers united as they remembered their former team mate Scott Vickers.
Held at Longcroft School, the teams were joined by Scott’s family members who led the sides onto the pitch.
Three men, one from Hull, have today been sentenced for their roles in a conspiracy to pass horesmeat off as beef. Andronicos Sideras, 55 of Southgate, London, Alex Beech, 44 of Sutton on Hull, and Ulrik Nielsen, 58 of Gentofte, Denmark were sentenced at Inner London Crown Court.
The investigation into the case began with Environmental Health and Trading Standards Officers from Hull City Council.
National retailer TJ Morris Ltd, which trades as Home Bargains, has pleaded guilty to three electrical safety offences and ordered to pay £22,300 in fines and costs after selling thousands of unsafe chargers to consumers in 2015. The case was heard at Hull Magistrates Court last Friday, February 3.
In October 2015 a shopper in Hull bought one of the dual USB chargers from a Home Bargains store in the city. During its first use, the device exploded and came apart, with the components visibly charred.
