A record forty-five athletes from Beverley Athletic Club lined up at the start of the Snake Lane 10 race on Sunday. It was a mild morning and with little wind on the flat, exposed course around Pocklington conditions were perfect for a fast race.
With no local races last weekend many members of Beverley Athletic Club continued with training schedules for the London and Hull Marathons.
Racing begins again at Beverley Racecourse on Sunday 25 March but instead of horses and jockeys it will be runners and walkers that will be treading the turf as the Sport Relief Mile comes to Beverley for the first time.
The penultimate race in the East Yorkshire XC League took place in the snow at Welton last Sunday. Hosted by Goole Viking Striders, the event attracted a field of 138 runners, 29 of them from Beverley Athletic Club.
