The Hull Incorporated Law Society and The University of Hull have joined forces to step up for justice by organising Hull’s first Legal Walk in aid of the Access to Justice Foundation.
Due to take place on Wednesday 4 June, the Legal Walk will see legal professionals and their families and friends walk 10k to raise funds for legal agencies who offer free advice to those who need it most.
Councillor Liam Dealtry has been elected as the new chairman of East Riding of Yorkshire Council following the authority’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Councillor Dealtry, who has been vice chairman for the last year, has served for six years as an Independent councillor representing the Bridlington Central and Old Town ward on East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
The Hull and East Yorkshire Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) is encouraging residents to share their views on how to recover nature across the region.
The strategy, mandated by the government, is aimed at creating, improving, and connecting high quality habitats. It will support efforts to adapt to climate change, reduce flood risk, increase food security, and improve access to nature.

21 voluntary community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations in the East Riding of Yorkshire, have signed up to the White Ribbon campaign against domestic violence.
The White Ribbon campaign, a charity, leads the way on ending violence against women and girls by addressing the root causes of men’s violence against women. It tackles harmful attitudes, behaviours and systems around rigid gender norms and harmful expressions of masculinity, that perpetuate gender inequality and gender-based violence.
On Friday 6 June, residents and visitors will be able to attend the unveiling of two new wooden carved sculptures celebrating the area’s influence on J.R.R Tolkien’s work.
The event will take place at All Saints Church in Roos, East Riding of Yorkshire.
Hull City Council and local charity, R-evolution, are celebrating the continued growth of the Trinity Market Cycle Hub, which saw an increase in repairs, donations, parking and public engagement in 2024/25.
Last year, the number of people using the hub’s free, secure indoor cycle parking increased to 4,830, up 23% on 2023/24 when 3,905 people used the facility.

A series of events will be held for residents in coastal communities across the East Riding, to learn about the impact of coastal erosion in their area, and to feed back their priorities.
