Beverley Cinema To Screen Award-winning Film About Yorkshireness

A film exploring the characteristic of Yorkshire folk has won a series of International Film awards ahead of its regional launch in July.

“Who is Yorkshire?” features stories by some of “God’s Own County’s” accomplished people, including Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, journalist Christa Ackroyd, rugby league star Jamie Peacock, playwright John Godber, presenter Stephanie Hirst, Lord David Blunkett and honorary Yorkshireman author and politician Alan Johnson.

Ofsted Inspectors Say East Riding Social Workers Are Enthusiastic And Motivated

Social workers are “enthusiastic and motivated” while they’re undertaking improved social work with East Riding children and families, according to Ofsted inspectors.

In a letter to East Riding of Yorkshire Council, inspectors found the “pace of improvement” had accelerated since their last focussed visit inspection in March, the fourth such visit since children’s safeguarding and support services were rated as inadequate during an inspection in 2019.
