The Sailors’ Children’s Society has launched one of its most important Christmas appeals of the last few years.

Three lucky winners have received their prizes, after taking part in this year’s Treasure House Children’s Trail in Beverley.

Becky Hitchenor, aged 9 of Beverley, won first prize – a family pass to Sewerby Hall and Gardens, as well as craft materials. Second prize went to Zac Barber, aged 13 from Louth, who won a family visit to Skidby Mill, and craft materials.

HULL : Police Launch Cadet Force As They Aim To Engage With The Youth

Cadets will soon join the ranks of Humberside Police thanks to a £10,000 donation from leading Hull firm Arco, as part of the work of the High Sheriff on behalf of the Tribune Trust.

We have already recruited 30 young people – aged 15 to 18 – from across the force, who will be taking up their posts in January. And from April we will be recruiting a further 60 young people, who will be in post by September.
