Repairs And Drainage Works To Be Carried Out On Queensgate
Essential repairs and drainage works will be carried out on a busy stretch of road in Beverley later this month.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council will undertake the work on Queensgate over two days on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 February, close to the double mini-roundabouts at the junction with Admiral Walker Road, Keldgate and Cartwright Lane.
Home Bargains Found Guilty Of Selling Unsafe Chargers
National retailer TJ Morris Ltd, which trades as Home Bargains, has pleaded guilty to three electrical safety offences and ordered to pay £22,300 in fines and costs after selling thousands of unsafe chargers to consumers in 2015. The case was heard at Hull Magistrates Court last Friday, February 3.
In October 2015 a shopper in Hull bought one of the dual USB chargers from a Home Bargains store in the city. During its first use, the device exploded and came apart, with the components visibly charred.
Humberside Fire & Rescue Service Now Recruiting
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS) is recruiting for full-time firefighters once again. Around 2,500 people applied last summer and the whole process begins again now to find another 20 recruits for the next course starting in September 2017.
As the Service is committed to employing a workforce that is representative of the diverse community it serves, a series of taster days will take place across the region throughout February and March for those who may not have ever considered a career in the Fire Service.

Council Vote To Increase Council Tax By 4.99pc In East Riding
Councillors have agreed to increase the council’s part of the council tax bill by 4.99 per cent for the 2017/18 financial year.
The increase was agreed at a special budget meeting and will see an increase of £62.90 a year for Band D properties.
