The Business Day – Bridlington Spa To host New Annual Business Event

Karren Brady, John Simpson and Alexander Armstrong to feature at Bridlington Spa new business network event this June in Bridlington.

Bridlington Spa will hold a new annual business event ‘The Business Day’ on Friday 9 June which aims to place business networking at the heart of a day of discovery and insight; including keynote speeches from Baroness Brady of Knightsbridge CBE and John Simpson CBE. Alexander Armstrong will host throughout as well as chairing a debate element covering local, national and international current affairs.

Talks And Workshops To Accompany The Wildlife Photographer Of The Year Exhibition

A programme of talks and photography workshops has been announced to accompany the hugely popular Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition running at the Treasure House in Beverley until 22 April, one of the key East Riding events in Hull UK City of Culture 2017, in which East Riding of Yorkshire Council is a Principal Partner.

Tuesday 21 March will see a talk by award-winning wildlife photographer George Stoyle (current winner of the British Wildlife Photography Award) at the Treasure House, at 6.30pm : ‘Photography in Conservation and Environmental Research’.

HMRC Itunes Telephone Fraudsters Operating In Our Area

Police are urging people not to fall for a scam where a fraudster pretends to be from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) before trying to trick vulnerable victims into paying bogus debts and taxes using iTunes gift cards.

The warning comes after an elderly man from Kirk Ella received a phone call telling him he owed a sum of money to HMRC and faced arrest unless he bought £500 worth of iTunes vouchers and told the scammer the codes over the phone.

Paws For Thought And Consider An Apprenticeship

To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, from Monday, 6 to Friday, 10 March, East Riding of Yorkshire Council is promoting the important contribution its apprentices are making and is encouraging other organisations to follow suit and create apprenticeship opportunities.

The authority currently employs 37 apprentices across a range of services and in schools. One of those is Josh Stubbs, an apprentice dog warden/pest control officer, currently training with the council, having started a 15-month apprenticeship in October 2016.
