Beverley RUFC U14s ruthlessly disposed of Hull Ionians at Beaver Park on Sunday, coming away with a 38-5 victory in their final home game of the season.

The victory demonstrated the progress the team has made over the season, playing 28 matches, 16 wins, 11 losses and a draw, including an appearance in the Yorkshire Plate Final.

Kite Festival To Return To Bridlington For A Second Year

The sky over Sewerby Fields, in Bridlington, is set to be awash with colourful kites as part of a two-day festival, hosted by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Bridlington Tourism Association (BTA) and the Northern Kite Group.

The event, subject to reasonable wind and weather conditions, will take place on Saturday, 6 and Sunday, 7 May and will see a number of internationally-renowned experts put on a display to entertain local residents and visitors to the resort.

Hornsea South Promenade Plans Secure Coast Communities Funding

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has welcomed the Department for Communities and Local Government’s (DCLG) announcement of £3.77 million of Coast Communities Funding towards plans for the redevelopment of Hornsea South Promenade.

The plans were developed alongside the Hornsea Area Regeneration Partnership and the existing users of the site, including the commercial fishermen, Hornsea Inshore Rescue and the Hornsea Sea Angling Club, and received planning permission in February 2016.

Graham Stuart, MP for Beverley and Holderness, will visit Sand le Mere Holiday Village near Withernsea on Friday to officially open the park for the new holiday season. His visit comes as part of English Tourism Week.

He will be shown round by General Manager Amby Tatla to see how the park has spent almost £1 million in the past year to improve infrastructure and add new caravan pitches to increase capacity.
