Featuring six contests, the night of boxing at the Defence School of Transport helped to raise money for the Beverley Community Lift and SSAFA.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking feedback on a new strategy which sets out how the council and its partners will work together to tackle the causes of homelessness and meet the needs of people without access to their own home.

The new strategy builds on the work of the last, published in 2013, and has been developed using the findings of a review into homelessness undertaken in the summer of 2017.

Following the recent Platform event hosted at Bridlington Spa that saw over 100 young dancers take to the stage, East Riding Youth Dance is once again recruiting for young people to join the exciting community dance programme alongside the East Riding Youth Dance County Company.

The youth dance programme is a fantastic opportunity for young people from Year 5 and upwards to engage in 12 weeks of community dance. Participants will work closely with professional dance artists, providing a platform for those with little or no previous background in dance to have a fun, energetic and inspirational experience.

A Hull man who advertised his illegal waste services on Facebook has been ordered to pay a total of £2,794.44 after admitting fly-tipping in Beverley.

Rubbish including tables, metal cages, car seats, cardboard boxes, a gas bottle and other household items were found dumped at the side of the road in Long Lane, Beverley, in March 2017.
