Community Choir Announces Programme For Debut Autumn Tour

The debut tour by a Hull-based community choir has been announced, with seven dates across East Yorkshire including Beverley.

The Believe in Hull choir was set up in early 2017, bringing together members of different churches as well as attracting friends and family. it was originally formed for a special Easter concert but such was the enthusiasm that the group has continued performing.

When Beverley Town Council organised the first Food Festival in 2006, little did they know it would go on to be an annual success enjoyed by thousands of residents and visitors alike.

The original idea was to bring a few producers from Beverley’s rural hinterland into the town centre to help celebrate local food, so on a crisp Sunday morning in 2006, thirty-five producers set up their stalls along with a small Food Theatre, in what proved to be a big success for the Town Council – one that has grown stronger year on year.

The first junior football game to implement smoke-free sidelines will kick off the season on Sunday with an aim to promote healthy lifestyles and reduce chances for children to see adults smoking.

Smoke-free sidelines launched in June, as a joint initiative between Hull City Council, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Hull & District Youth Football League, East Riding Girls League, Active Humber University of Hull, Tigers Trust and East Riding County Football Association.

Although the weather prevented any play in two of the club’s Saturday games and the most vital, the 2nd XI fixture, was also abandoned before completion, news of cancellations and abandonments throughout the league meant the 2nds kept top place in Division one and will be promoted to the York Senior League Premier Division.
