Improvement Scheme At Grovehill Road In Beverley Starts This Month

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has announced that a highway improvement scheme is planned to start on Grovehill Road, Beverley, on Monday, 22 October, and is expected to take six weeks to complete.

The scheme extends from Grovehill Junction eastwards to Zarya Court and involves carriageway widening on the south side, along with the provision of a shared footway/cycleway.

Beverley Colts Beat Local Rivals Driffield At Beaver Park

After making a winning start to their league campaign against Guisborough, Beverley colts second fixture was against their local rivals Driffield. Although Beverley ended up winning 57-5, this was a much closer game than the score may suggest.

Beverley started the stronger of the two teams and managed to turn their early dominance into points when captain, George Bennett-Teare picked up from the base of an attacking scrum and fed fellow back rower, Reg Fisher, who drove over for a try converted by Charlie Rawlins.

East Riding College is welcoming back ex-student Peter Sidwell as he returns to Beverley to open the Beverley Food Festival as its special guest.

Pocklington-born Peter, who studied at the College when it was still Beverley College, is now a TV chef and presenter of the Channel 4 cookery show Lakes on a Plate. He is also well known as the author of the Simply Good Food range of cookbooks and runs a restaurant and cookery school in the Lake District.
