MP Graham Stuart has praised the community for pulling together over the proposed relocation of the Post Office in Beverley.
Mr Stuart joined Union Members and members from all political persuasions in Beverley as they look to put pressure on the Post Office to rethink their plans.
Cllr Denis Healy has handed over a petition to MP Graham Stuart as he looks to put pressure on the government to overturn a decision by the Post Office to relocate services to the nearby WH Smith store.
Cllr Healy and his team have collected over 2,500 signatures since November from residents. The Cllr says people in the town are outraged by proposals put forward by the Post Office.
Conservative Government Policy when it comes to the future of the 74 Crown Branches, including Beverley is quite clear. They allow the Post Office to deliver this strategy as an independent business.
While much has been made of the six-week consultation, Post Office bosses remain adamant that the relocation to WH Smith will go ahead.

As part of its programme of highway maintenance works, East Riding of Yorkshire Council is carrying out essential carriageway improvement works on the A1038 Kingsgate between Wilsthorpe Roundabout and Kingston Road, Bridlington.
