Tourism businesses across Hull and East Yorkshire are being urged not to miss out on the chance to grab an industry “Oscar” and put themselves firmly in the spotlight.
The “go for glory” fanfare was sounded by Visit Hull and East Yorkshire tourism manager Andy Gray with the deadline for this year’s Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards – the REYTAs – fast approaching.

The Treasure House in Beverley is launching brand new art sessions for children and young people every Thursday after school during term time, called the Young Creatives.
Working with artist Esther Cawley, the sessions will give children a unique opportunity to make their own pieces of art and find out more about the artworks at Beverley Art Gallery.
Beverley Town were held at home by Chalk Lane as the sides shared six goals in a thrilling 3-3 draw.
Beverley went 1-0 following a well-worked goal from Karl Fitzgerald. Chalk had a good penalty appeal turned away, both teams created some good chances but neither side could convert. The first half was played at a frantic pace, with both teams determined to get a foothold on the game.
Beverley RUFC started the second half of the season entertaining Pontefract on a cold and grey day, but at least dry conditions underfoot made the prospect of some good rugby realistic and so it proved.
In September the Beavers secured a victory over Pontefract in the corresponding fixture over in the West Riding. Results since then shown that Ponte has improved substantially and they currently sit fourth in the table, with 13 points more than Beverley.

Beverley ARLC have been in full training for the past month. The first game of the season at York Acorn in the first round of the Challenge Cup on the weekend of the 26 and 27 January is drawing closer.
The club also expects to confirm a couple of friendlies in the month of February.

Bishop Burton College is to offer T Level qualifications in childcare. This new qualification is the equivalent to three A-Levels will on offer from September 2020.
Bishop Burton College will be one of a few colleges in the UK to offer this type of qualification. They say it provides a real alternative to A-Levels.
