Primary Schools To Be ‘Gripped’ By Story From Hull’s Whaling Past

A Hull-based theatre company is to create an immersive maritime-themed performance to be performed in local primary schools.

Theatre on the Edge, which aims to produce quality theatre with new and original work, has been commissioned by Hull City Council as part of the forthcoming Hull: Yorkshire’s Maritime City primary schools outreach programme.

Council Tax Set To Increase By 3.99% In East Riding

Councillors have agreed to increase the council’s part of the council tax charge in the East Riding by 3.99% for the 2020-21 financial year.

The increase, which was agreed at a Full Council meeting on 13 February, will raise £6.8million of additional income for the council and will result in an increase of £57.64 a year for a Band D property.
