Theft Cooplands Secret Garden Café, Beverley

Humberside Police are appealing for information in connection with a theft which is alleged to have happened on Thursday 8 March 2012 between 1120hrs and 1140hrs in the Cooplands Secret Garden Café, Toll Gavel, Beverley.

A woman visiting the café took a seat along with two friends and placed her handbag on the floor to her right hand side.

Another woman took a seat at the next table and is described as being in her early to mid 20s, around 5ft 10ins tall, of thin build with long dark hair tied up and wearing dark clothing.

One of the women sitting at the first table reports noticing the woman described above holding her friend’s handbag and confirms that she challenged her, upon which the woman in her early to mid 20s gave the handbag back and made some excuse about it having got tangled up.

When the handbag was given back to the owner she noticed that a small purse containing a small amount of cash was missing.

Another customer, a man approached the victim advising that he had seen what happened.
