This year sees the 50th anniversary of Beverley’s designation as a Conservation Area. To celebrate this anniversary a new exhibition, “Conservation 50”, is now open at the Beverley Guildhall.

Response to the exhibition has been very positive, many visitors commenting that they were unaware how much of the town was included in the Conservation Area. Many also feel that the exhibition helps them to appreciate the town in a different way.

Heritage Open Days : Explore Skidby Mill And Access Restricted Areas

Skidby Mill will be taking part in the Heritage Open Days 2017, on Saturday and Sunday 9 and 10 September.

Visitors will be able to enjoy free admission to the mill on both days between 10am and 4.15pm to the usual facilities on site – The Museum of East Riding Rural Life, a range of outbuildings, and an exhibition entitled Steeple People: East Riding Churches and Associated People, looking at a selection of churches from across the East Riding, as well as people closely connected with them.

The Treasure House at Beverley has unveiled its programme of exhibitions and events for 2017, and will be playing a major role in Hull UK City of Culture 2017.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council – a Principal Partner in Hull 2017 – has published the programme of events, which includes the prestigious 52nd Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition from 11 February to 22 April, on loan from the Natural History Museum.
