Summer Reading Challenge Now Open For Sign Up In The East Riding

are excited to announce that The Big Friendly Read, Summer Reading Challenge 2016 is now open for sign up.

The Challenge, which is produced by the Reading Agency and delivered by libraries, takes place every year during the summer holidays.

Children aged four to eleven can sign up at their local library to read six books of their choice and attend weekly themed activity sessions, collecting stickers and rewards, all for free. This year’s theme is Roald Dahl, marking the centenary of his birth.

The Challenge is open to all primary school children and is designed for all reading abilities.

All children are encouraged to sign up at their local East Riding library now, but families are reminded that places are limited.
