Beverley residents and others visiting the medieval market town this summer will be able to stay connected thanks to free high-speed WiFi access to be installed by KC throughout the town centre later this month.
Jane Tattan the Chairman of local charity N.U.R.S.E. says she is delighted with the news that the new Mayor of Beverley Paul McGrath has named N.U.R.S.E. as one of his chosen charities for the year.
Cllr McGrath selected his wife Maureen to be consort while Cllr Kate Gray a long standing servant to town was named deputy mayor at ceremony in the Beverley Guildhall.
Sunday’s NGS Open Allotments day at Queensgate and Kitchen Lane in Beverley has not only raised awareness about the benefits of ‘growing your own’ fruit and vegetables. It has also raised almost £700 for charity through entry ticket sales.
