Beverley Town Reserves concluded the first month of the season with four straight wins going into October top of the East Riding County Premier League.
Town’s second string capped of what has been a good month for the side with comprehensive 4-2 win over local rivals Leven Member Club at Longcroft School.
Beverley Town Academy went into this game with seven players missing, so it was testimony to the size of the squad that they could still field a strong first 11.
Darren Spruce saw his goal cancelled out as the Lord Nelson were held at home by Goole United Academy. Next weekend, the Lord Nelson face Leven Members Club, the leaders of the East Riding County League.
Beverley Town Beavers beat Skirlaugh 2 – 0 in the East Riding County League. Goals from Alex Thompson and one from super sub Andy Nelson were enough to give the home side an all important three points.

Hodgsons FC Reserves completed their pre season with a comprehensive win over Leven Members Club 5 – 0 at the Beverley Leisure Centre. Stew Scott and Rob Whiting scored twice each while Garry Collins claimed a goal after converting a first half penalty. The Tanners second string gets their season under way next week as they travel to Bishop Burton to face Terry Jackson’s Lord Nelson.

Leven Members Club caused an upset this Saturday as they beat table toppers Barrel Walkington 3 – 2 in the East Riding County League. Leven who beat fellow strugglers Mill Lane United last week have now moved off the bottom of the table thanks to the back to back wins. Next week Leven play St Georges while the Barrel Walkington will have a tricky home fixture against Sculcoates Amateurs Reserves….
