The Culture Train Tour 2021 is once again bringing a taste of the Hull music scene to communities in East Yorkshire after being derailed by the pandemic in 2020.
The fifth and final date of this years tour brings musicians to play at St Mary’s in Beverley on Saturday 27th November with a lineup of Diddie Hair, The Cox Brothers, Jackson D, The Quicksilver Kings and Ruth Scott and James Wood of the Late Night Marauders.
Since 2017 the Culture Train project has taken some of the top musicians from Hull out to play at locations across East Yorkshire and on August 31st the current tour has its finale at the majestic St Mary’s Church.
The project is funded by East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Active Creative fund and began during the 2017 Hull City of Culture year to take musicians out of Hull and visit locations along the Hull to Bridlington rail line.
Quiet Riot the monthly music night which ran in Beverley during 2015 returns to the town on Friday 9 June, coming back to a venue that was witness to many fantastic nights.
Quiet Riot- The Beverley Alternative brought fifty established acts from the Hull music scene to play at Hodgsons Pub and acts who played at the big local festivals such as Humber Street Sesh, Freedom Festival and Cottingham Springboard performed here on a monthly basis.

BBC Radio Humberside were broadcasting this morning from Wednesday Market in Beverley asking local people about what can be done to improve the number tourists into the region.
Around 13,000 people packed Queen Victoria square in Hull to welcome Alex Smith and gold medallist Luke Campbell from the Olympics. Thousands of people went nuts as the two Hull lads were presented to waiting masses by BBC’s David Burns.
Beverley Racecourse’s first meeting of the season was blessed by fantastic weather on the Westwood. Thousands of punters enjoyed the conditions for the suitably named ‘Spring Into Racing At Beverley’ meeting. Among those making the most of a superb day of racing were former Hull City captain Ian Ashbee, BBC Radio Humberside legend David Burns and Beverley ARLC manager Richard Shaw.
