Following a few words from Hammo’s good friend Ben Bolton, 28 black and amber balloons were released to mark what would have been Hull City fan Tom’s 28th birthday.

Conference To Be Hosted Over Life-saving Defibrillator Machines By MP

Customers of East Riding Leisure Haltemprice, in Anlaby, can enjoy a specially commissioned artwork by locally born artist Patrick Coyle, which has taken over the library, the swimming pool, the café and a squash court in the leisure centre until November.

Inspired by the joined-up nature of the building, Coyle interweaves three of its distinct environments through writing, performance and sculptural installation.

Lit Up Festival is thrilled to present a newly commissioned work by one of the UK’s most performed playwrights, John Godber, which will tour East Riding Libraries at the end of this month, as part of the Out of this Word programme.

John has worked alongside a trio of emerging playwrights from The Writing Squad: Georgia Affonso; Ruby Lawrence and Lydia Marchant, to re-imagine East Riding histories. The piece is entitled HERE and NOW and it will see three trainee librarians battling with books, boilers and bad parking as they uncover amazing stories!
