Olympian To Open New Indoor Volleyball Club In Bridlington

East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Sport, Play and Arts Service, and East Riding Leisure Bridlington, are delighted to announce that a new Indoor Volleyball Club for adults will start on Monday, 20 March, between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.

To celebrate the launch of the club, Ben Pipes (the London 2012 GB Volleyball Captain) will be supporting and coaching at the session on 20 March, which will enable participants to learn the game, play the game and have fun.

Humberside Police were called by Humberside Fire and Rescue Service at 6.23am today (Friday 10 March) requesting assistance with road closures following a serious house fire and subsequent explosion on Beverley Road, Hull.

A man from the property has been taken to Hull Royal Infirmary with serious injuries. Three fire officers are believed to have sustained minor injuries.

To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, from Monday, 6 to Friday, 10 March, East Riding of Yorkshire Council is promoting the important contribution its apprentices are making and is encouraging other organisations to follow suit and create apprenticeship opportunities.

The authority currently employs 37 apprentices across a range of services and in schools. One of those is Josh Stubbs, an apprentice dog warden/pest control officer, currently training with the council, having started a 15-month apprenticeship in October 2016.
