Exhibition Celebrating Hull’s Female Artists Launches 3 March 2017

A free exhibition which celebrates Hull’s creative women is launching next week at Kingston Art Group Gallery as part of Hull UK City of Culture 2017.

The Female Gaze is one of 60 projects funded by Hull 2017’s Creative Communities Programme, delivered in partnership with the Big Lottery Fund. It is also a highlight of WOW – Woman of the World – Hull, a festival celebrating gender equality.

A helter-skelter of a match. Beverley deservedly won in the end but they had to withstand a terrific late Scarborough onslaught during which the two sides between them scored 31 points in the last 25 minutes.

Beverley led 25-6 going into the final quarter and looked to have the game comfortably in the bag. They had been the better side throughout and were playing by far the more controlled rugby. They could scarcely have anticipated the rumbustious ending to come.

Hull City Council Leader Publishes Budget Proposals

The Leader of Hull City Council, Councillor Steve Brady, is preparing to present his Budget Statement for the 2017/18 financial year.

The proposals, which will be presented to Finance & Value for Money Overview and Scrutiny (17 February) meeting, Cabinet (20 February) and Full Council (23 February), set out the suggested plan for the budget in 2017/18, the financial plan for the next three years and proposals to raise Council Tax by 1.99% to help fund Council Services plus a further 3% to help fund Adult Social Care costs in line with the additional powers to do so by the Government .
