FCC Environment is calling on forward thinking local charities which are keen to expand and work in partnership, to get in touch with them.

The company, which manages the Reuse Shop at the Humberfield Household Waste and Recycling Centre (HWRC) in Hessle on behalf of East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Hull City Council, has announced that it is seeking a charity partner to help drive donations and encourage even more members of the public to buy great value pre-loved items from the Reuse Shop.

The famous chalk tower at Flamborough Head now boasts a new interpretation board, funded by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, in association with the Friends of the Chalk Tower.

The new board tells the story of the history of the tower, which was built in 1674 as a lighthouse by Sir John Clayton and George Blake. The tower contains 98 steps to the top.
