An outline planning application has been submitted to East Riding of Yorkshire Council by developer Sewell Group for the Yorkshire Energy Park, a large-scale industrial development on the former aerodrome at the edge of Hedon and adjacent to Preston South.
Beverley To Be Host Town For UCI Road World Championships
Beverley is one of many towns and cities in Yorkshire to that is being lined as a host location for the 2019 UCI Road World Championships.
Harrogate has been named as the main competition town and finish location for each race while race start location proposed include Beverley, Doncaster, Leeds, Northallerton, Ripon, and York.
Learn More About Allotments At National Gardens Scheme Open Day
Beverley Town Council, in association with the National Gardens Scheme (NGS), is holding an Open Allotments Day on Sunday 9th July from 12 noon until 4pm on the Queensgate and Kitchen Lane allotment sites.
The event, which is included in the NGS ‘Yellow Book’, is open to local residents, visitors and anyone with an interest in allotments and growing their own produce. This year will be the sixth time that the event has been held in the town.
Regions Museums Awarded Major Funding And National Portfolio Organisation Status
The Humber Museums Partnership, led by Hull Museums, with partners North Lincolnshire and the East Riding, is delighted to announce it will become an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation and receive over £3.9m in funding. The partnership is currently one of only 21 Arts Council Major Partner Museums in England.
Arts Council England has announced the next wave of funding to support arts, culture and libraries sector across the country and has awarded the Humber Museums Partnership £3.9m over the next four years between 2018 – 2022.

The sun was out, the sky was blue and Beverley Folk Festival 2017 was another resounding success.

Hull will soon be joining the likes of London, Edinburgh and Bath as a brand new city tour bus is announced.
The Hull Explorer will be an open top bus which will take visitors on a tour around the city centre’s most fascinating sights. Calling at the Cenotaph, Queen Victoria Square, the Wilberforce Monument, Old Town, the Museums Quarter, Hull Minster/Trinity Square, The Deep and the Marina, a tour guide will tell the story of the city, giving a fascinating insight into Hull, past and present.
Beverley Grammar School Trio Reach National Final
Will Day, Isaac Bullough and Joseph Officer represented Beverley Grammar school at the regional final of the Foreign Language Translation Bee Tuesday 6 June at Sheffield Hallam University in their chosen language of French.
Following the regional event Beverley Grammar School Boys Adam Roberts (13), Lewis Matthews (13) and Nathan Thorp (13) are German finalists now through to the National Final which will be taking place on Monday 3rd July at Cambridge University no less.

Red Earth And Blue Water – New Exhibition At Beverley Art Gallery
A new exhibition opens at Beverley Art Gallery in the Treasure House this Saturday (1 July): ‘Red Earth and Blue Water; Studies of Indian Life’ by Susan Beaulah.
Beaulah has been painting and exhibiting regularly since the 1980s in watercolour and oil. In recent years, her works have been mainly produced in India– from Rajasthan in the north to Kerala in the south.

Pupils from St Nicholas School Primary School organised a Book Character Day. The event saw a number of the students in the school spend the day as dressed as their favourite characters from books.

Scrapping Rail Service Will Impact Passengers and Tourism Says Cllr
Cllr Denis Healy is appealing to Northern Rail to reconsider its proposal to scrap Beverley’s direct train service to Doncaster and Sheffield and beyond from next May.
The train operator is consulting stakeholders about a proposed new timetable to take effect from May 2018, which will see the end of through trains from Beverley.
