Beverley Minster and Beverley Town Council will this weekend present the annual Beverley Christmas Festival of Food and Drink
Taking place on Saturday 25 November, from 10AM to 4PM the event will have something for all the family including a special appearance by Father Christmas.
Christmas has come early for a local primary school in Beverley after they picked up over £3,000 thanks to an incentive run by the super market giant Tesco.
Keldmarsh Primary School were voted by customers of the Morton Lane store in the Bags of Help scheme, winning the incentive for July to August.
Residents across the East Riding wishing to improve their home security may be able eligible to apply for a grant.
The safe and sound scheme, which is run by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, is a pot of money which is available to vulnerable people in order for them to install additional security measures, such as additional door and window locks, door chains and window alarms.
Organisers of the Christmas Tree Festival at Beverley Minster are looking to find five more social groups of businesses to take at this year’s event.
With 95 confirmed participants, they are hoping five more will come forward this year to set a new record of 100 trees – the most they can physically fit in.

Sheltered Housing schemes residents will be joined on Wednesday by local campaigners opposed to East Riding Council proposals which would see warden numbers in Sheltered Accommodation slashed.
